This anthology includes poems by thirteen poets published by Paraclete Press from 2005-2016, leading off with an introductory essay of mine, "A Sense of Presence: Poetry and the Education of the Soul." Poets included are, among others: Rainer Maria Rilke and the German-Iranian poet SAID (my translations), Anna Kamienska, Scott Cairns, Paul Mariani, Bonnie Thurston, Greg Miller, William Woolfitt, and Phyllis Tickle. Each of the poets contributed five new poems to go with five selected from their published work with Paraclete; in the case of deceased poets (Rilke and Kamienska), I have incluced five new and previously unpublished translations of their work.
